The spirit of health, learning, and community came alive on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023, as the Racine Community Health Center (RCHC) hosted its very first Back to School Block Party. The event, held from 4 pm to 7 pm, saw an overwhelming response from the community.
Located right outside the Julian Thomas Elementary School in Racine, the block party’s vibrant atmosphere welcomed families, students, and neighbors. The event had something for everyone, including food trucks, clinic tours, raffles, family activities, vendor booths, and backpacks full of school supplies!
The success of this inaugural block party wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Racine Community Health Center team, the support of the Julian Thomas Elementary School, and the generous contribution of community sponsors and partners.
The event truly exemplified the community’s commitment to coming together and supporting one another, especially during moments of transition like the start of a new school year. As the sun set on that memorable August evening, the laughter of children, the camaraderie of neighbors, and the joyful atmosphere painted a vivid picture of unity and shared purpose.
